The new tennis season is nearly upon us and the club is looking to build on an
excellent year last year. The club attracted many new members who contributed
greatly to both club and team play leading to an increase in membership of 25%
on the previous year! More members are always
welcome, and with annual fees held at £60 for all year round play for adults,
£10 for juniors and greatly reduced fees for veterans, the club offers excellent
value for money. Summer play commences on Sunday 4 April, with normal club play
on Sunday afternoons from 2-5pm and on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 6pm
until dusk. Tennis balls are provided and are replaced on a regular basis.
In addition to club play, members also have the opportunity to play competitive
tennis as the clubs run 2 men’s and one ladies team in the Gloucestershire
summer Leagues. So if it’s competition you are looking for, or a slightly less
energetic and more a sociable experience in a beautifully
scenic backdrop, then the tennis club could be for you. We really do cater for
all standards of players with the emphasis on fun and enjoyment for all
(although if there is a budding Andy Murray out there….)
We will be holding our start of season Bar- B-Q on Sunday 25 April beginning at
1pm, followed by ‘Fun tennis’ from approximately 1:30pm onwards. The Bar-B-Q is
open to everyone with a cost of £5 for adults and no charge for children, so
please make a date in your diary, come down and see what
we’re all about!!
We look forward to another successful and enjoyable season, meeting up with old
friends and hopefully making new ones. For further information about the tennis
club please contact Ian Donnelly (674404) or Andrew Harrington (677039)
